MICHELE DOMINGUEZ GREENE
"L.A. LAW" EMMY NOMINEE CONNECTS WITH YOUNG ADULTS AND CRITICS AS MYSTERY NOVELIST

CHASING THE JAGUAR (HARPERCOLLINS) FIRST IN HIP, URBAN NANCY DREW-STYLE SERIES; LATEST LATIN ROOTS CD, LUNA ROJA, MAKES HER 'TRIPLE THREAT' ARTIST

LOS ANGELES (July 14, 2006) - Young adults everywhere are connecting with street-smart girl detective Martika Galvez, the hip, urban, Nancy Drew-style star of the new, gritty teen mystery CHASING THE JAGUAR (HarperCollins), from Emmy-nominated actress and first-time novelist MICHELE DOMINGUEZ GREENE.

As teens prepare to head back to school, those who've read CHASING THE JAGUAR this summer "can't wait" for the sequel from the former "L.A. Law" star and a series of Martika Galvez mysteries to follow as they maintain this book is a fall must-read:

Critical acclaim for CHASING THE JAGUAR ranges from the Washington Post ("A lot more wit, heft and freshness than the 'Au Pairs' and 'Gossip Girls' books") to Booklist, which marveled how Greene's dramatic experience informs "her debut novel's skillfully maintained suspense and her camera-ready scenes of rescuers and villains. Readers will be equally riveted by the second, more spiritual mystery: the source and extent of Martika's special powers. … Readers will look forward to the promised sequels." read more...

LATIN-WORLD MUSIC EXCURSION WITH LUNA ROJA

"L.A. Law" Emmy Nominee’s Long-Awaited Followup to
Critically Acclaimed Debut CD Gains Early Buzz

"Greene possesses a lovely, lilting soprano voice with just a hint of brine, the better to render her tunes in the tangy Spanish tongue." – Billboard

"Greene shows that her talents aren't limited to acting. … She sings with considerable brio in both Spanish and English." – People

"(Luna Roja) couldn't have arrived at a better time." – World Music Central

LOS ANGELES – Actress MICHELE DOMINGUEZ GREENE, a recurring cast member in David Mamet’s CBS ensemble drama “The Unit” and perhaps best known for her Emmy-nominated role on the groundbreaking hit legal drama "L.A. Law," deepens her impact as a bilingual “triple threat” artist embracing her Latin roots with the release of her sophomore CD, LUNA ROJA (Requinto Records).

Available in August 2006 via Amazon.com and CDBaby.com and in September at all major download sites, the long-awaited follow-up to Greene’s critically acclaimed 2002 debut arrives just as her empowering first novel, the hip, urban teen mystery Chasing the Jaguar, is being published by HarperCollins and connecting with young adults heading back to school this fall.

LUNA ROJA ("Red Moon") has garnered early media attention at Grammy.com, Global Rhythm, Mix, Gannett News Service and the Chicago Sun-Times, among others. The CD, which also can be ordered at www.michelegreene.com, is being called "a fine piece of work" (Alabama Public Radio) that's "deeply compelling" (Harrisburg Patriot-News) and "eye opening" (About.com Latin Music, 4 Star review), with Greene being hailed for having "quite a voice" (RootsWorld) and declared "the next Ani DiFranco" (Midwest Record). read more...

bio

MICHELE GREENE is a triple threat artist: an Emmy nominated actress, a bi-lingual singer-songwriter and a published author. A native Los Angelino of Mexican/Oklahoma-Irish heritage, Greene's debut CD, Ojo de Tiburon, garnered excellent reviews and solid radio airplay around the country. Her follow-up, Spanish language CD LUNA ROJA, features guest appearances by members of Conjunto Jardin and John Gorka.

Produced by renowned Peruvian guitarist Ciro Hurtado, Greene's music is a fusion of traditional North American and Latin rhythms and influences with a unique perspective on social issue, the frailties of the human heart and other aspects of the human experience. Poetic, lyrical and provocative, her music has won the praise of Don Was, multiple Grammy-winning producer, who calls Greene the "missing link between the hippest bastions of American Folk and the fiery romanticism of Latin music."

Greene also sang on two highly acclaimed compilations: Spain In My Heart: Songs of the Spanish Civil War and the Grammy-nominated Seeds: The Songs of Pete Seeger, the latter sharing company with Billy Bragg, Ani DiFranco, Steve Earle, Lila Downs and Quetzal.
