STATEMENT ON BERNIE SANDERS SUSPENDING CAMPAIGN FROM CREATOR OF 'SAVING BERNIE,' MADCAP COMEDY SERIES PREMIERING NOW

Award winning Filmmaker and Grammy nominee says Vermont Senator is 'A Hero' Amid Global Pandemic

New Episodes Premiere Every Tuesday on Vimeo

****AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEWS***

TUCSON, AZ (April 8, 2020) - Reacting to today's news of Sen. Bernie Sanders suspending his Presidential bid, the award-winning creator of the new madcap comedy series SAVING BERNIE, currently premiering on Vimeo, said the Vermont senator remains "a hero" as he unites the Democratic party in order to save lives in the battle against this global pandemic.

"Bernie Sanders gracefully dropping out of the race is not only patriotic, but selflessly heroic," says Linda Chorney, the award-winning filmmaker and trailblazing Grammy nominee who filmed the globe-trotting political-comedy-travel-adventure series across five continents. "I believe in my heart that he has done this to save lives and unite the country. Now is the time, more than ever, for Bernie to spotlight his agenda of health care for all, because THAT is winning. It has now become a matter of life and death. Now he can focus on uniting his base with enough voters to defeat the most dangerous President in American history."

Despite being a self-described "Bernie die-hard," Chorney realized when she began writing that Sanders' chances were slim. The filmmaker recognized that although Sanders' mantra is "Healthcare should be a right and not a privilege," the reality is that in the United States, healthcare is not a right, it's a business. Thus, she positioned Sanders for a higher calling beyond the Presidency, placing him in an alternate universe - as a kidnap victim diabolically shrunken to toy size.

New episodes of SAVING BERNIE are premiering weekly each Tuesday at www.savingbernie.com. Single episodes are available for download at $1.99 - or $14.99 for the entire series.

One dollar from every full series download will be donated to St. Mary's Food Bank, which serves to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food in Phoenix, AZ, near Chorney's home, while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy and education.

Filmed on five continents and described as "Pee Wee Herman meets Austin Powers, Indiana Jones, The Three Stooges and Mel Brooks," SAVING BERNIE premiered within days of the global pandemic reaching alarming new heights and sending Americans back to their homes or to rapidly overcrowding hospitals while the economy was screeching toward a standstill.

Hailed by Tucson Weekly as "far-fetched and ridiculous - albeit funny," NYNJ.com notes: "Even those on the Right will appreciate a spoof to get lost in as they laugh at the premise of Bernie being kidnapped."

TUCSON, AZ (March 31, 2020) - The creator of the new madcap Vimeo web series SAVING BERNIE never imagined that a global pandemic would have heightened the relevance of her original vision to position Sen. Bernie Sanders for a higher calling beyond his Presidential bid.

Forecasting the political fate of the still hopeful Vermont senator in an alternate universe - as a kidnap victim diabolically shrunken to toy size - had been on the agenda for Linda Chorney since she first conceived her globe-trotting political-comedy-travel-adventure series.

Just as the national response to the coronavirus crisis is resuscitating Sanders' political agenda and flaming the burning embers of his campaign, the award-winning filmmaker and trailblazing Grammy nominee is steadfastly rolling out episode premieres with an unplanned perspective that delivers both hilarity and surprising prophecy.

To introduce today's Episode 5 premiere of the irreverent 10-part series, Chorney and her Bernie doll have just recorded a Special Message that brings SAVING BERNIE - and the coronavirus crisis - into harmonic perspective.

"It's all about Bernie's No. 1 priority, which is healthcare," says Chorney, whose reel-life cult classic indie film, When I Sing, has won 11 film festival awards in the past three years. "The whole series, despite all the laughs and crazy silliness, is a constant reminder of how important healthcare is. Every single episode stresses that. There's no debate during this coronavirus pandemic that we all should be entitled to health care right now, in the wealthiest country in the world.

"With our world turned upside down, I thought long and hard about halting the rollout of this series," says Chorney. "The truth is, we honestly don't know how long this is going to last. But we do know how seriously every American needs healthcare right now. We're out of time. Bernie's fate in the election is nowhere near as important as the immediacy of his message when it comes to healthcare. The predicament we're in is forcing a national reckoning about the country's financial and health care systems.

"I created this series fully realizing Bernie was a long-shot for the nomination. So even if he doesn't win, we need his message to win: That every American should have healthcare, that every American should have a good education, and that we should preserve our planet for future generations."

"In the wealthiest country in the world, humor should not just be for the millionaires and billionaires," says writer-director Linda Chorney, the Grammy-nominated indie singer-songwriter and award-winning filmmaker who takes viewers - and her little Bernie Sanders doll - on an insane globe-trotting mission, from Asia to Antarctica to swimming the English Channel to hopping a cruise ship home as the series unfolds. "I'm hoping to do my part by sharing what I hope is a fun, laughable experience, because that's what we need now. SAVING BERNIE is just silly. And we all need silly right now."

Chorney also is encouraging more artists to go online and live stream their art, bringing it to a public that is currently unable to enjoy it in a live setting.

The irreverent 10-part Vimeo series, which will do nothing less than inexorably alter the course of American history, was filmed on five continents to create a political-comedy-travel-adventure series the writer-director describes as "Pee Wee Herman meets Austin Powers, Indiana Jones, The Three Stooges and Mel Brooks."

Sen. Bernie Sanders' bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination may be sliding swiftly, but SAVING BERNIE, the title of a new madcap comedy series now premiering on Vimeo, positions the free-falling candidate for a higher calling, campaign results and pandemic fears be damned.

Admit it. You kind of wondered just how Sanders recovered so quickly from what was described last year as a "heart attack." Well, so did Chorney. And that irrepressible inquisitiveness led to SAVING BERNIE.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOVE BERNIE SANDERS, TO LOVE 'SAVING BERNIE'

From Campaign Trail to Cambodia, Grammy-Nominated Indie Singer-Songwriter and Filmmaker Linda Chorney Travels the Globe, Bernie Doll in Hand, to Create Madcap Web Series Positioning Free-Falling Presidential Candidate for Higher Calling

New Episodes to Premiere Every Tuesday on Vimeo

TUCSON, AZ (March 12, 2020) - Sen.

Admit it. You kind of wondered just how Sanders recovered so quickly from what was described last year as a "heart attack." Well, so did Grammy-nominated indie singer-songwriter and filmmaker Linda Chorney. And that irrepressible inquisitiveness has led to the irreverent 10-part Vimeo series that will do nothing less than inexorably alter the course of American history.

The Series debuted on Super Tuesday. New episodes are premiering weekly each Tuesday thereafter. Episode 3 ("Next Stop Bangkok") will premiere in conjunction with the March 17 primaries in Florida, Illinois, Ohio and Arizona, where Chorney resides. Single episodes are available for download at $1.99 - or $14.99 for the entire series - at www.savingbernie.com.

Chorney immersed herself in SAVING BERNIE to save herself from the insanity of the current Administration. Politics aside, Chorney has quite a bit of affection for Sanders as a character as well.

"He's hilarious," she says. "He reminds me of my grandfather. I believe him and his message, and I respect his principles. He can't be bought. I see a bit of myself in Bernie because he tells it like it is, even if it ruffles a few feathers. I love Bernie. I love that he's a fighter. I love that he doesn't care if what he's saying isn't popular with the mainstream. And the best part, is that he reminds me of Larry David. And I see myself in Larry David, too. We're both annoying, but I'm a much better singer."

It should not be surprising to discover Sanders and Chorney prove to be quite the dynamic duo in their SAVING BERNIE travels.

"Bernie's a great travel partner," says Chorney. "He doesn't eat much. We both like dumplings. And what's really fun is how people react to the Bernie doll. Kids are especially enamored."

There was the time she was filming on a flight from Japan when child came up to her, grabbed the doll and ran off with it. In Cambodia, a child threw a tantrum to try to get Chorney to give up the Bernie doll, which she regrettably could not hand over.

"SAVING BERNIE is just silly," says Chorney. "And we all need silly right now."
